Restoring Your Smile: The Benefits and Types of Dental Bridges at Emmanuel Dental & Orthodontics

At Emmanuel Dental & Orthodontics of Richardson, Texas, Drs. Pramod Thomas and Fred Silva believe in offering a wide array of restorative treatments for patients in the community, including dental bridges. There are many types of dental bridges available, so educating our patients about their options is the best course of action during an initial consultation at our office. Let’s look at dental bridges and their purpose in restorative dentistry.

What is a dental bridge?

A dental bridge replaces one or several missing teeth, restoring a patient’s ability to speak, chew, and smile with confidence. At our practice, Drs. Thomas and Silva offer custom dental bridges to help patients achieve optimal oral health. We also provide clear information about the cost of a dental bridge to help you make an informed decision.

When might your team suggest dental bridges for an individual?

We might recommend a dental bridge if you are missing a single tooth or several teeth in a row. A dental bridge is a fixed, non-removable restoration anchored by two custom-made dental crowns. These crowns are placed onto the teeth or dental implants adjacent to the gap, holding the false tooth in place to restore the smile. This ensures your restoration will not shift or come loose easily. Completing a dental bridge typically requires just two visits to our practice.

How can dental bridges improve my smile?

A dental bridge can improve your smile in some of the following ways:

  • Restoring your ability to speak, eat, and chew normally
  • Alleviating excess stress on your bite
  • Improving both the shape and volume of your face
  • Replacing an unwanted removable partial denture
  • Preventing your remaining natural teeth from shifting out of their positions
  • Enhancing the overall look of your smile

How long do they last?

Dental bridges are designed to last for many years, effectively restoring your smile’s function, beauty, and health. Our durable bridges provide a reliable, long-term solution to enhance your oral health and appearance. We educate our patients on how to care for their bridges to ensure their longevity!
